Note: The following steps apply only to Plugin Instruments and their associated expansion packs.
For guidance with MPC Sound Expansion Packs, see this article: Akai Pro | MPC Store FAQ- Accessing Your Purchased Expansions
The contents of this article cover setup instructions for Plugin Preset Expansion Packs for MPC OS hardware.
This applies to the following Plugin Preset Expansion Packs:
- Flavor Pro - Marco Polo Presets Vol 1
- Homage - Hype Expansion
- Urban Heat - Fabric XL
- OPX4 - Pro Motion Expansion
To Download your Plugin Preset Expansion Pack - Visit your inMusic Profile and download the inMusic Software Centre
After the download completes, It will open up the inMusic Software Center
Click on Let's Go! and will then take you to a browser window to sign into your newly created inMusic Profile. Enter both your email address and password and click on "SIGN IN"
Click My Expansions from the tab on the left:
Scroll down to 'Preset Expansions' - Click the drop down to download the preset expansion
Note: if the expansion is not seen, you may have purchased the software using a different email to your inMusic Profile - If you're in this position, contact our support team for assistance.
Once downloaded, click 'Show In Folder'
On default, all software from the inMusic Software Center will be downloaded to the following location:
Windows: C: > Users > [Name] > Downloads > inMusic
Mac: Macintosh HD > Users > [User Name] > Downloads > inMusic
To install on a standalone Akai product (Force, or MPC):
1. Select the drive where you want to install the content. Make sure that the drive has enough free space to hold the entire pack.
We recommend that you choose an internal SATA drive for ease of use.
2. Connect the selected drive to your computer.
Note: Internal Force/MPC SATA drives can connect to your computer by putting your Force into “computer mode” or your MPC into “controller mode.” See your product’s user guide for more information on how to do this.
3. Copy the Plugin Expansions folder from the folder location on your computer to the root folder (top level) of the drive.
Make sure you copy the folder itself, not the content within it.
If a Plugin Expansions folder already exists on your drive, merge the contents of this folder with the existing one, do not replace it.
Note: If your OS offers to 'replace' the existing folder then you will remove the existing plugin presets from the drive. Ensure you merge the folders.
- You can do this on MacOS (in Finder) by holding Option while dragging the Plugin Expansions folder into the external drive.
- You can do this on Windows (in Explorer) by dragging the Plugin Expansions folder into the external drive. The folders will merge by default.
Please see the following example of the Plugin Expansions folder copied to a removable drive called Test for your reference:
4. Wait for the files to copy, and then safely eject the drive to ensure all data is written.
5. Insert the drive into your Force/MPC. Your new presets will appear in the MPC OS Sounds browser under the main Plugin.
