Different hardware controllers will allow for different abilities in the configuration of their outgoing MIDI Control Changes. If your controller does not appear in Controller Editor, it is due to the reasons listed below:

- Komplete Kontrol S-Series MK2
- Komplete Kontrol A Series
- Komplete Kontrol M32
You can access the MIDI Assignment editor by clicking the MIDI icon in the top right of the Komplete Kontrol software when your S-Series MK2 keyboard is connected:
Here you can define what kind of MIDI messages are assigned to the controls of the keyboard in MIDI mode.
Legacy products are no longer supported with the current version of Controller Editor
Some legacy products are no longer supported and thus their templates cannot be edited. Since Controller Editor 1.8.0, support for the following NI devices has been discontinued:
- Audio Kontrol 1
- Kore 1 Controller
- Kore 2 Controller
- Rig Kontrol 3
If you wish to edit the MIDI properties of your controller you can downgrade to Controller Editor 1.7.4. To do so, you must first uninstall the current version of Controller Editor and then reinstall version 1.7.4 as explained below.

Uninstalling Controller Editor on Mac
1. Make sure that your controller is not connected to the computer.
2. Delete the following files and folders from your system:
- Macintosh HD: Applications > Native Instruments > Controller Editor (folder)
- Macintosh HD: Users > *Username* > Library > Preferences > com.native-instruments.Controller Editor.plist (file)
Note: the User Library folder is hidden. To access it, click on Go in the menu bar and press down the Alt key. The Library entry will become visible in the drop-down menu and can now be selected.
- Macintosh HD: Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Hardware (folder)
Uninstalling Controller Editor on Windows
1. Make sure that your controller is not connected to the computer.
2. Open your Windows Control Panel:
- Windows 7: Click on the Start icon and open the Control Panel.
- Windows 8 / 10: From the start screen, type 'Control Panel' on your keyboard to call up the Control Panel tile.
3. In the Control Panel, go to Programs > Programs and Features.
4. Select Native Instruments Controller Editor from the program list and then click Uninstall to proceed.
After having completely uninstalled the current version of Controller Editor, download and install version 1.7.4. You will find the installers for both Windows and macOS under Controller Editor in our Drivers and other Files page here.
Note: Once you have made the necessary changes in the MIDI template of your controller, you may revert back to the latest Controller Editor without any loss in functionality.
