This article contains a list of NI Hardware devices and specifies when the use of a Power Supply is Required or Optional, and when the device is powered by USB Only:
- Required: The device will not function unless it's connected to its power supply and the computer via USB.
- Optional: The device is fully functional when connected to the computer via USB and the power supply is not used. In most cases, connecting the power supply enhances the brightness of the device's LEDs and Display screens.
- USB Only: The device is fully functional when connected to the computer via USB only, and the device is equipped with only a USB port (i.e. no power supply socket).
