As a DJ, understanding and adjusting the motor torque on your Rane Performer's platters is crucial for achieving precision, customization, consistency, and equipment maintenance. By taking the time to make these adjustments, you can enhance your overall DJing experience and deliver top-notch performances for your audience.

To adjust the motor torque, use the steps below:

  1. Press and hold Shift and press the HW / SW FX button to access the System Menu Settings.
  2. Use the joystick and the Parameter/FX Select encoder to navigate the menu and select Motor Torque.
  3. The default setting is HIGH.  You can adjust this to LOW.
  4. Push the Parameter/FX Select encoder to confirms value changes.
  5. To exit the system menu settings, use the joystick to navigate back to the root. Alternatively, press HW / SW FX or one of the 6 FX slot buttons to exit the system menu.

In addition to these settings, there is an assortment of plastic and felt Slip Rings that can be used in various combinations to suit your personal preference. We recommend always placing the plastic slip ring down first, followed by the white or black felt slip rings. This will guarantee the platter will spin smooth and consistent.
