This is often caused by a setup error and can easily be resolved by following the steps below...
1. Click the 3 lines in the top-left corner of your screen, then select Edit > Preferences.
2. Under the Audio Device tab, expand the Audio Device Type dropdown menu. If you are using your computer's built-in speakers, or your external speakers are connected directly to the computer's audio output, select Windows Audio. If you are using an external audio interface or an MPC standalone console in controller mode, select ASIO.
Mac OS users can skip this step.
3. Select the Inputs and Outputs of your computer or external audio interface.
4. Click the MIDI / Sync tab. Ensure that GLOBAL, CONTROL, and TRACK are activated under the Input Ports for your device, then ensure SYNC and TRACK are enabled under the Output Ports section. Click OK.
5. Click the MIDI Learn button, or press CTRL (CMD) + Shift + L on your keyboard. A side panel will open on the far-right side; select the ENABLE button, ensuring it lights up, then select your product from Factory > Brand.
6A. If you are using a MIDI Keyboard, click on the Plugin Icon under the Track section in the far-left section of your screen, then press some keys. You should now hear sound.
6B. If you are using a Pad Controller, select the Drum Program icon, then press B on your computer keyboard to open up the Media Browser, which will appear on the far-right side of your screen, then double click on a kit to load it onto the pads.
