1. Open up the included Editor software, and ensure that your Pad MIDI Channel is set to 10 and your Keybed MIDI Channel is set to 1.
2. Click File > Send Program, and select a slot.
3. On your MPK Mini, hold down the PROG CHANGE button whilst tapping the pad which corresponds to the slot number you selected in step 2.
4. Open MPC Beats.
5. Under the MIDI tab, name your track "Keys", select the plugin icon, then set the Input Ch to 1.
6. Select a different track, name it "Drums", select the drum grid icon, then set the Input Ch to 10.
7. Select Track View.
8. Record arm your tracks by holding down CTRL or CMD and clicking the record button for Drums and Keys.
9. You will now hear a drum sound when you tap your pads, and a keyboard sound when you press the keys.
