BFD Player is a free drum program for Mac and PC, and the simplest way to enjoy the power of BFD. In this article, we look at how to restore the Kit View after installng your BFD Player content.

  1. Open BFD Player

    Start by opening BFD Player on your computer.

  2. Check the Left-Side Browser

    On the left-hand side, you’ll see a list of expansions or libraries that you’ve installed. This should include the Core Library, as well as any expansions you've installed, like Black Copper or Dark Mahogany.



  3. Select a Preset:

    • Click on any expansion library (e.g., Core Library or one of your installed expansions).
    • Select one of the available presets from the list
    • Double-click to load the preset, and the kit view should reappear.
      In the example below: We're loading the Dreamstate preset from the Core Library



  4. Still No Kit View?:

    • If selecting a preset doesn’t restore the kit view, try restarting BFD and checking that all your expansions are installed correctly.
    • Ensure that your firewall settings aren’t blocking BFD from accessing necessary files.

  • Reinstallation: If reinstalling didn’t work for you, try removing and re-adding your expansions through the inMusic Software Center, and check your installation paths are correct for where you're scanning your content.
  • Check for Updates: Make sure you’re running the latest version of BFD, including any updates for your expansions.
