BFD3 & BFD Player (Expansion Packs) require activation/re-activation every 90 days with a stable Internet connection - Activation errors may occur if the time & date settings on your computer are manually specified; causing a 'time-out' between our servers and your computer.
Example errors related to this problem can be found below:
- OOPS SOMETHING WENT WRONG
- Error Retrieving User Details
- This Request Could Not Be Authorized
- Error Retrieving User Details
The contents of this guide will help you sync the time & date settings on your machine to help prevent the authorization errors listed above upon activating / re-activating your BFD Software.
For Windows:
- Open the Start Menu and type "Date & time settings" in the search bar.
- Select "Date & time settings" from the results.
- Ensure "Set time automatically" is enabled.
- Also, enable "Set time zone automatically."
- If necessary, click "Sync now" under Additional settings to force a time update.
For macOS:
- Click the Apple menu () and go to System Settings.
- Scroll to General > Date & Time.
- Check "Set date and time automatically."
- Ensure the correct time zone is selected.
- Your Mac should now sync the date and time online.
Keeping these settings synchronized helps prevent any authorization errors when activating or re-authorizing BFD3.
