An unresponsive key on your MIDI keyboard can be incredibly frustrating. Below are steps to verify and troubleshoot this issue, to get you back up and running as quickly as possible.
Firstly, a MIDI monitor is a great tool to visualise the MIDI data your computer is receiving from your keyboard. A full guide on how to perform this, can be found HERE. Using the monitor, you can identify the individual key that is not sending the relevant MIDI note, to verify that the issue is occurring outside of a particular DAW.
In some instances, this issue can be resolved via some cleaning. We recommend using compressed air to remove any dirt or debris that may have built up around the key, and through any gaps around it. Whilst pressing down on the key can help to access areas where you can apply compressed air, please do not attempt to lift the keys upwards. This can cause further damage to the device.
If you still experience issues with the key, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our support team HERE. They are on hand to advise on the best next steps.
