If a USB MIDI keyboard or similar is connected to your MPC standalone console but you can't hear any sound, please check through the following information...
1. Connect your external MIDI controller to a USB A port on the back panel of your MPC standalone console.
2. Tap on the I/O icons in the top-middle section of the Main screen to open the MIDI Monitor window.
3. Press or move any of the controls, pads, keys, or faders of your controller. Data should now appear on the screen as seen below...
If no MIDI data appears in the MIDI Monitor window
1. Ensure that your MIDI controller is connected directly to the MPC's USB port with no hubs or adapters in the middle of the connection.
2. Check whether or not your controller is class compliant. Only class compliant controllers can be used with the MPC.
3. Replace your USB cable.
If MIDI data does appear
1. Go to the Main screen and select a plugin (plug icon) under the Track section to play a sound using any key.
2. Make sure that both the volume on the MPC and on your speakers themselves are turned up.
3. Replace your speaker cables or try using different speakers.
4. Check through our MPC Beats Academy videos in order to best utilize your MPC.
