The Rane PERFORMER is a 4-channel motorized DJ controller featuring RANE’s industrial build quality and legacy sound!
When you first receive your Rane PERFORMER, you will need to install drivers and update the firmware in order to get started. Please start by installing the driver first or the firmware update application will not recognize your Rane PERFORMER.
DRIVERS
Connect your Rane PERFORMER to a power outlet with its provided power cable, then connect to your computer with the provided USB cable and power the unit on.
Visit the Rane website to download the appropriate driver for your system.
Scroll down until you find the section labelled "PERFORMER". There you will find the appropriate drivers for Mac and Windows. Choose the appropriate file depending on your system and click to download.
Once the download has finished, double-click on the Install Rane PERFORMER installer package and follow the prompts on screen to proceed.
Once the installer has run its course, be sure to restart your computer in order to complete the installation.
After drivers have been installed, you may now proceed with the firmware update.
FIRMWARE
Connect your Rane PERFORMER to a power outlet with its provided power cable, then connect to your computer with the provided USB cable and power the unit on.
Visit the Rane website to download the firmware updater for your system.
Scroll down until you find the section labelled "PERFORMER". There you will find the appropriate firmware updaters for Mac and Windows. Choose the appropriate file depending on your system and click to download.
WINDOWS
On Windows, the firmware update file is an installer for the firmware updater itself, so you need to run this installer before you can update the firmware.
Download and run the Install Rane PERFORMER Firmware Updater.exe file and follow the installation prompts to proceed.
Once the firmware installer is complete, there will be an option to launch the Rane PERFORMER Firmware Updater. Confirm this option is checked prior to clicking Finish.
Alternatively, from the Windows start menu, search for Rane PERFORMER Firmware Updater, and open the file of the same name.
Click on UPDATE FIRMWARE.
You'll see the jog wheel displays on your Rane PERFORMER show the firmware update is in progress. Be sure not to disconnect your Rane PERFORMER from your computer or its power source while it's updating.
Once installation is complete, the updater will prompt to close the program. Your Rane PERFORMER's jog wheel displays will return to their default startup animation.
MAC
On macOS, the Rane PERFORMER Firmware Updater will download as a self-contained .dmg file, so all you have to do is double-click it to open, then simply run the installer.
If you receive the following prompt, click Open to proceed.
Click on UPDATE FIRMWARE.
You'll see the jog wheel displays on your Rane PERFORMER show the firmware update is in progress. Be sure not to disconnect your Rane PERFORMER from your computer or its power source while it's updating.
Once installation is complete, the updater will prompt to close the program. Your Rane PERFORMER's jog wheel displays will return to their default startup animation.
