Setting up a MIDI connection in Logic:
Create two EXTERNAL MIDI TRACKS with the MIDI DESTINATION set to your interface or the Subsequent 37.
On the first MIDI track, set MIDI CHANNEL to 1 and on the second MIDI track set the MIDI channel to 2.
On the Subsequent 37, set MIDI OUT to channel 1 and MIDI IN to channel 2.
Create an AUDIO TRACK and verify that the input channel you are connected to is selected as the INPUT on that track and turn INPUT MONITORING ON.
Use the first MIDI track to capture incoming MIDI data from the Subsequent. Drag or copy the recorded MIDI file down to the second MIDI track to playback the file to the Subsequent 37. Record audio of the MIDI playback on your audio track when ready.
Using the Editor Software in Logic:
Add one SOFTWARE INSTRUMENT TRACK and one EXTERNAL MIDI TRACK.
On the software track select the SUBSEQUENT 37 EDITOR VI from the device drop down and set the MIDI channel to 1.
On the external MIDI track, select your interface or the synth as the device and set the MIDI channel to 2.
On the Subsequent 37, set the MIDI OUT channel to 1 and the MIDI IN channel to 2.
Create an AUDIO TRACK and verify that the input channel you are connected to is selected as the INPUT on that track and turn INPUT MONITORING on.
Use the first MIDI track to capture incoming MIDI data from the Subsequent.
Drag or copy the recorded MIDI file down to the second MIDI track to playback the file to the Subsequent 37. Record audio of the MIDI playback on your audio track when ready.
