Download & Install the inMusic Software Center
To access the downloads for BFD Player and any expansions, you'll need to install the inMusic Software Center.
Download the inMusic Software Center via - https://www.bfddrums.com/downloads/
Once the download is complete, run the installer and follow the prompts to install the inMusic Software Center.
Please note - You may be prompted for this program to make changes to your system. Click Yes.
MacOS users may be asked to allow third-party developer access and/or enter their password depending on system settings. This is normal and expected.
Create your inMusic Account/Log In
When you first open the inMusic Software Center, you will be prompted to sign in or create an account via the Let's Go button.
Once Let's Go is selected, a new browser tab will open to Create Account or Sign In.
Please create an account if you haven't already. If you already have an inMusic account, proceed to Sign In with your details.
The inMusic Software Center will request access to your inMusic Profile. Click Accept
Locate and Download BFD Player
As BFD Player and the Core Library are free software, you'll find these available in the Free Software section of the inMusic Software Center.
Click the download button for BFD Player.
Please note - As BFD Player requires the Core Library, this will begin to download automatically
The Core Library installer is significantly larger, so please allow some time for this to install.
Installing BFD Player and the Core Library
Once downloaded, click Install for BFD Player and follow the prompts on screen.
When installing the Core Library, you will be prompted to choose a file location to save this library to. The default location can be found in /Documents/BFD Drums.
If you need to install it on an external drive, please use an SSD via SATA or externally via USB-C / Thunderbolt for acceptable speeds.
You may receive a message stating 'The folder you have selected to install to doesn't exist. Would you like to create this folder?" - Click OK to proceed with the Core Library installation.
Please note: The installation of the Core Library will take some time, as the content is high in volume
Once the installation completes, click Done.
Authorizing your BFD Player Content
Once the installation is complete, launch BFD Player.
You will be prompted to log in to your inMusic Profile. Click the button and follow the prompts.
Once logged in, BFD Player will request access to your inMusic Profile. Click Accept.
After this is complete, you will be redirected back to BFD Player.
Next, a confirmation will appear showing that the Sound Pack or Expansion has been authorized.
Loading your BFD Player Core Library
While BFD Player is open:
- Click the BFD Player logo in the top-left corner of the interface.
- Select the Content Tab
- Click Add
- Direct BFD Player to the installed content's location
- You'll be prompted with a "Successfully added" message
- Click Done
Loading BFD Player Content from an external drive
If your expansion content was moved or stored on an external drive:
- In the Content section, click Add.
- Locate the folder containing your BFD Core Library/Expansion.
- Select the correct drive/folder and click OK.
- The Core Library should now appear in your library list.
All currently installed libraries will be listed in the left-hand column.
Double-click on a preset to load it.
Now that you've loaded a preset, you can start making sounds with BFD Player!
