Should Meeting Mate be set up horizontally or vertically?
The Meeting Mate can be set up horizontally, or vertically with the included stand.
To use Meeting Mate with the stand, place the stand on a flat, stable surface and position Meeting Mate vertically so that the Micro-USB and Aux ports are at the bottom. Align the ports with the cutout of the stand (as shown, below) and carefully insert the speaker into the stand.
Is the battery user replaceable?
Meeting Mate features a built-in rechargeable 7.4V, 2500 mAh lithium polymer battery - this is not user-replaceable.
How long will Meeting Mate last on a single charge?
The Meeting Mate battery will last up to 10 hours, depending on the features being used, and the volume at which content is being played.
How do I mute the built-in microphone?
Press the Mic Mute Button to mute or un-mute the internal microphone; this is the leftmost button on Meeting Mate. When muted, the Mic Mute LED below this button will be lit red.
How do I connect Meeting Mate to my computer?
Meeting Mate can be connected to your computer, and used as an audio input and output device. The following steps outline this process:
- Power on your Meeting Mate
- Use the included micro-USB Cable to connect the Meeting Mate to an available USB port on your computer.
- When connected, you will here "USB Mode" for confirmation
- Select Meeting Mate as your audio device by doing he following:
- Windows: Go to Start Menu > Control Panel > Sound and select Meeting Mate under the Recording
and Sound Playback tabs - macOS: Go to Audio MIDI Setup and select Meeting Mate under the Input and Output tabs.
- Windows: Go to Start Menu > Control Panel > Sound and select Meeting Mate under the Recording
- You can now use Meeting Mate to listen to audio from your computer, receive video calls, and more.
NOTE: You must use the included micro-USB Cable for guaranteed connection.
My computer doesn't recognize Meeting Mate - what should I do?
Ensure that you are using the included USB Cable- this is required for transferring data and receiving power.
How do I set this up with my video conferencing service?
The procedures for setting up an external microphone with video conferencing services are generally similar across services. Once you have connected Meeting Mate to your computer, as specified above, it will come down to configuring your software properly. How do I connect to Meeting Mate via Bluetooth?
Follow the steps below to pair your Bluetooth Device with Meeting Mate:
Power on the Meeting Mate by holding down the Power button for 2 seconds. Meeting Mate will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode, and you will hear "Bluetooth Pairing" for confirmation.
Navigate to your device’s Bluetooth setup screen, find Meeting Mate, and connect. When connected, the Bluetooth LED will be lit solid blue and you will hear “Bluetooth Connected”.
To disconnect, turn off Bluetooth from your device’s Bluetooth settings, or press and hold the Bluetooth button. You will hear "Bluetooth Disconnected" for confirmation.
Note: Do not connect to Meeting Mate_BLE; this is reserved exclusively for connecting to the ION Sound XP app. If you experience trouble in connecting, select “Forget this Device” on your Bluetooth device and try to connect again.
How do I take a call when connected to Meeting Mate via Bluetooth?
When Bluetooth-paired, press and release the Play/Pause button to answer a phone call. The phone’s ringtone will be heard through the Meeting Mate speaker until the call is answered.
When the call has been disconnected, Meeting Mate will resume playing music.
To reject an incoming call, press and hold the Play/Pause button. To mute the microphone while on a call, press the Mic Mute button.
Why does my microphone sound delayed/distorted when using Bluetooth to make phone calls?
While it is totally possible to take calls over Meeting Mate via Bluetooth, the latency inherent to this process can result in delayed audio.
For best call quality, we recommend using the USB audio link with your computer.
Can I use Meeting Mate with the ION Sound XP app?
Absolutely! The ION Sound XP app can be used to remotely adjust color settings on the light, along with changing the EQ profile for the audio. The following steps outline how to connect Meeting Mate to the ION Sound XP app:
Open the Apple App Store or Google Play on your device. Then, search for the ION Sound XP app.
Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the app. Once downloaded, the ION Sound XP app will appear on your device's home screen.
Connect your device to Meeting Mate_BLE in your device's Bluetooth Settings.
- Open the ION Sound XPTM app and tap to select Add A Product on the screen. The app will scan and find Meeting Mate.
- Select the Meeting Mate icon to go to the next screen, where you can control the speaker settings from your device.
