SoundSwitch 2.9 introduces several significant enhancements to the Autoloops feature, making it even more powerful and user-friendly.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Increased Autoloop Count

One of the major updates in SoundSwitch 2.9 is the increased Autoloop count. The software now supports up to 128 Autoloops, organized into four banks, each containing 32 Autoloops.

Note for Users Upgrading from 2.8

When you update to SoundSwitch 2.9, your existing 32 Autoloops will be automatically distributed across the four banks, with eight Autoloops assigned to each bank.

In Edit Mode, you’ll see the four banks, with a blue highlight on the bank header indicating the currently selected bank. The Autoloop Matrix will display the 32 Autoloops for that specific bank, which can be selected as in previous versions by clicking on the Autoloop name.

New Features in Edit Mode

The following new features have been added in Edit Mode to improve efficiency in your editing workflows:

  • Reordering and Moving Autoloops: You can now rearrange your Autoloops by simply clicking and dragging them to your desired slot within the Autoloop Matrix. Autoloops can be moved between banks, but a bank must have at least one free slot available to accept a new Autoloop.
  • Duplicating Autoloops: Right-click on an Autoloop and select the duplicate option to quickly replicate Autoloops, speeding up the creation process.
  • Auto-Populate Empty Autoloops: If you’re migrating from a previous version of SoundSwitch and want to utilize the new Autoloop count immediately, you can auto-populate empty Autoloop slots. Right-click any Autoloop and select “Populate Empty Autoloops” from the options menu. This will fill only the empty slots with newly created default Autoloops, leaving existing or user-created Autoloops untouched.

Performance Mode Changes

Autoloops in Performance Mode retain a similar appearance to previous versions, but you’ll now need to select the Autoloop Bank to toggle and navigate between the four banks of 32 Autoloops.

New Display Features in Performance Mode

  • Progress Indicator: A new progress indicator in the SoundSwitch Software shows which Autoloop is currently active and its progress. The bank’s progress indicator reflects the progress of the active Autoloop in that bank, making it easier to find active Autoloops when switching between banks.
  • Control One Feedback: The Control One device now provides feedback similar to the SoundSwitch Software. The active Autoloop will flash, and new indicators on the Autoloop Banks will help you navigate:
    • White Indicator: Represents the selected Autoloop Bank.
    • Pulsing Blue Indicator: Shows the bank containing the active Autoloop.
    • Pulsing Red Indicator: Indicates an exclusive bank that has been triggered by the user, meaning only Autoloops from that bank will be selected.

Exclusive Autoloop Banks

Exclusive Autoloop Banks allow you to restrict Autoloop selection to a specific bank. To activate an exclusive bank, long-press the Autoloop Bank in the SoundSwitch Software or on the Control One. The bank will pulse/flash, and on the Control One, it will flash red. To deactivate, select the “Play All Banks” option in the SoundSwitch Software or press the “Shift Button + Any of the four Autoloop Banks” on the Control One.

Note: If an Autoloop is currently playing from another bank, the exclusive bank won’t take effect until the current Autoloop finishes or you manually trigger an Autoloop from the exclusive bank.

Triggering Autoloops at Any Time

In previous versions of SoundSwitch, Autoloops were used for unscripted tracks or required activating the “Override Scripted Tracks” option. Now, you can trigger an Autoloop at any time, even over scripted tracks. Simply select an Autoloop during playback, and it will immediately begin, playing for its duration before returning to the scripted track. If you want Autoloops to override scripted information, select the “Override Scripted Tracks” option or press the “Autoloop Override” button on the Control One.

This update gives you greater on-the-fly control, allowing you to create unique and powerful Autoloops for key moments in your performance.

Autoloop Repeat Options

Two new Autoloop repeat options have been added:

  • Infinite Autoloop Repeat: The Autoloop repeats infinitely until the repeat option is disabled.
  • Track Duration Repeat: The Autoloop repeats for the duration of the track in your DJ software. When you load a new track, the repeat will deactivate, and a new Autoloop will be selected.

These preferences can be found in the SoundSwitch settings under the “Performance Mode” tab.

New Default Autoloops

With these updates, we’ve created new default Autoloops that will be automatically used when you create a new SoundSwitch project. If you want to apply these defaults to an existing project, select the “Reset Default Autoloops” option from the menu.

Note: This will overwrite any existing Autoloops, so make sure to back up your project before proceeding.
