In this article we will go through the steps to manage your plugins in your Content Download Drive.

Content Download Drive: This is a drive location where all your plugin instruments/FX content files are stored when you activate and download plugin instruments and FX on your MPC.

On default, this location will be InternalHowever, we would advise changing this to an external drive to free up space on your MPC's Internal drive:

Synths Folder: Once your plugins have been downloaded, they will be stored in a Synths folder:

When you enter this folder, you will find sub-folders relating to your plugin instruments and FX*:

*Note: MPC Stems Separation will not appear in this directory on MPC hardware.

Moving Synth Content: If this Synth folder is currently located on your MPC's Internal Drive (Menu > Browser > Places > Internal) and you want to free up space, delete the entire Synths folder by pressing Shift and Tap Delete.

Once this has been done, perform the following steps in order:

1. Power off MPC
2. Power on MPC
3. Go to: Menu > Preferences > Activations and set the Content Download Drive to your chosen external drive (i.e user-installed SSD, SD card or USB drive)*

*Note: This external drive will need to be permanently connected to your MPC when activating and installing your plugins. We would suggest using an SD card or user-installed SSD (MPC Live, Live II, X, X SE and Key 61 only)

4. You should now see download icons appear besides all of your plugins. Tap these icons to start a fresh installation of your plugins:

5. Once this has been done, you should now find that your plugin content are now downloaded to a new Synth folder on your chosen Content Download Drive - which will free up space on your MPC's Internal Drive.
