Autoloops Explained:
Autoloops are a handy feature in SoundSwitch that come to the rescue when you load a song that doesn't have a scripted light show attached. In this article, we'll walk you through what Autoloops are, how they work, and provide tips on using them effectively.
Understanding Autoloops:
Autoloops serve as a backup system that automatically takes over when you load audio tracks into your DJ software that lack SoundSwitch Scripts. These Autoloops are designed to harmonize with the song's structure and can be created in various bar durations, including 8, 16, 32, 64, and 128 bars.
SoundSwitch offers four Autoloop banks, each with the capacity for 32 Autoloops, allowing you to create a total of 128 Autoloops. These Autoloops seamlessly synchronize with the Beatgrid in your DJ software, which can be Serato DJ, VDJ 2021, or Engine Prime.
Please note: SoundSwitch 2.9 is required to take advantage of the expanded autoloop banks. Older versions of SoundSwitch are limited to 8 autoloops per bank, totaling 32 autoloops.

Autoloop Behavior in Performance Mode:
In Performance Mode, Autoloops are in sync with the Beatgrid, allowing them to cycle through as you play. To illustrate, if you've crafted four 8-bar Autoloops, each with a distinct color, your lights will change color every 8 bars, perfectly aligned with your DJ software's Beatgrid.
Autoloop Repeating (Updated in version 2.3):
In SoundSwitch version 2.3 and later, you can now set Autoloops to repeat indefinitely. Simply select the "Repeat Autoloop" option and use the "Next" and "Previous" buttons or manually choose to launch an Autoloop.
Creating Effective Autoloops:
When building your Autoloops, it's essential to keep things simple. Autoloops will sync with a variety of songs, each with different beat styles, so trying to match the beat precisely isn't always the best approach. Solid color loops, color transition effects, and slow intensity fades tend to work well with Autoloops.
Working with Autoloops:
To start creating Autoloops in Edit Mode, switch to the Autoloop View by selecting the "A" button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. To create a new Autoloop, click the '+' button in an empty bank and select one of the available duration options to set the Autoloop's length.
Now, you can begin crafting the desired lighting effects using the Control Tracks. It's recommended to start with Master Tracks, as this information is standardized across all your venues. However, you can achieve greater customization through the individual Fixture Control Tracks.
To manage your Autoloops effectively, you can rename them by double-clicking on an Autoloop and entering a new name. Deleting an Autoloop is as simple as right-clicking and selecting the 'Delete' option.
